Jim Carter
The owner and founder! Business began part time about 1981 in his home garage selling 1950's GM bed strips and wood planks. The hobby soon became a full time operation as older truck popularity grew. He remains on the premises full time, involved in the various departments.
Jim has tackled most all the jobs over the years and has grown with the company!
Barbara
Barbara is our Office Manager. The famous saying "The Buck Stops Here" relates to our town's own native son, former President Harry S. Truman. This is also an excellent analogy to our office manager, Barbara Hall.
Many problems and related questions surface daily in Barbara's office, most requiring immediate assistance. Rarely will they need to go beyond her level of authority. She has grown to understand the inter-workings of all our departments. Barbara's knowledgeable, independent nature quickly solves problems before the company owner (Jim Carter) ever gets involved.
With over thirteen years experience with Jim Carter Truck Parts, Barbara has "done it all" while being a part of our continued growth.
Sheba
Sheba is our Sales Manager. She has been a part of our sales staff for over 13 years. Dealing with our customers on a one to one basis each and every week. There are few questions she hasn't heard! Her automotive knowledge began at an early age. Sheba was a part of the family-owned gasoline and repair service station since before her teenage years.
She is our problem solver! When questions get difficult with your orders, she works with your sales representative to correct the problem. During our busy times, Sheba will also be on the phone taking your orders. This saves you time and gets your orders processed promptly.
Larry
Here is the supervisor of our packing department. Larry keeps control of the various packers, parts pullers, places completed boxes of merchandise in our computer and keeps track of packing supplies.
He will even help us with some packing and parts pulling duties when we are short an employee or behind on orders.
Larry has been with our company 7 years and has become an important part of our team.
Julie
Julie began in our sales department April 2002. She has picked up on the early GM truck business as fast as any person we have ever employed. Julie has quickly learned the fine details of early trucks and is now one of our more knowledgeable sales representatives. Her background is totally automotive. She has worked many years with new and used automotive sales companies. Julie knows trucks.
Mike
Mike, our "Computer Technician" He now owns two Advance Design Suburbans. This technical oriented individual knows older GM trucks. With many years in this business, there are few truck questions he can't answer.
He is always available to make those many repairs and adjustments that computers and software often need. When not fixing our computers, he is adding new programs that help us better help you. Yes, he is seen during the day. He helps our sales department with technical assistance as well as being in our lobby to work with customers needing technical advise.
Jimmy
Jimmy answers our customer phones, waits on people in our front lobby, and takes care of core or merchandise returns. We've given him extra responsibilities so he is a very busy person.
He has been with us three years and handles himself well. His knowledge of early trucks grows daily. Jimmy's talents with older vehicles relates to his earlier years. For 17 years he drove his 1969 Pontiac Firebird. He was personally involved in all the repairs as well as total engine rebuilding. During this time he also owned and did major repairs on a 1965 Chevelle and 1963 Impala. His brothers 1962 Chevrolet ½ ton also received many of Jimmy's talents to keep it on the road.
Lynn
Lynn, is in charge of our two person inventory control department. Her extensive experience with our company (16 years) has given her the necessary understanding to keep our shelves filled with the items you need to restore your GMC or Chevy Truck. Much of her time is spent on the phone with our many vendors. She arranges each of our five catalogs before printing. As business is doing well, Lynn's job is never done.
Lisa
Lisa is the person you will first see when you enter our lobby. She is involved in retail walk-in sales, answering order phone lines, and maintaining our show room. She gets quite busy!
Lisa is a natural for our company. She grew up with 5 older brothers that were race car enthusiasts. Her extra time was with her brothers at the drag strip track. She helped them with race car repairs and learned working parts of race cars.
Lisa's first major employer was the mid-wests largest auto parts supplier. She did deliveries and front counter sales for over eleven years.
Now with our company three years, she can help you with your GM truck needs. Give Lisa a call.
Dave
Dave is your technical advisor. He has personally been involved in ground-up GM truck restoration for over 30 years. There are few restoration problems he hasn't experienced. The local "Genuine Chevrolet-GMC Truck Club" of Kansas City, also gets some of Dave's talents as he was their newsletter editor for several years. He provides his many talents and experience at no charge to you. Each business day from 2 pm till 4 pm, Central Time, he is available to help you with your technical restoration questions.
